ASSISTANT MANAGER
Company Assistant Manager report to the Store Manager and are responsible for creating an exceptional customer service and employee experience by ensuring store locations are operating in a clean, safe, welcoming, and compliant manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :
- Maintaining an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a primary emphasis on fast, friendly, and accurate service.
- All scheduling for employees is completed accurately and on time.
- Carry out performance appraisals for department heads if required by Store manager.
- Coach, counsel, and mentor employees and managers.
- Departments are culled effectively, and no substandard merchandise is on show.
- Ensure all established company policies and procedures are being followed.
- Ensure all staff are wearing the correct Hi Nabor approved uniform.
- Ensure long-life and perishable departments are merchandised correctly with sets that are seasonally correct.
- Ensure that disciplinary action protocol is being carried out for breaches of policy and poor performance.
- Ensure that the company’s high-quality standards are upheld.
- Manage and solve personnel and customer issues, including complaints and conflicts.
- Perform supervisory duties for the store, including hiring, scheduling, training, evaluating, coaching, and disciplining employees
- Review Department managers’ scheduling and Mentor to ensure it is efficient and cost-effective and make changes as required.
- Stores are staffed appropriately in each department, and hiring occurs accordingly.
- Thoroughly walk each store checking the trading area, warehouse, coolers/freezers, outside of buildings and Parking lot and determine the following is in line with company standards Daily.
- Warehouse, cooler, and freezer inventory is kept to the absolute minimum required stock except for investment buy activity.
- All products are priced clearly, correctly, and competitively and report noncompetitive situations to the Store manager.
- Complete and submit request for wage rate increase request forms, to Store manager for approval.
- Ensure Stores inventory match the requirements for sales and new business.
- Ensure that stores are conducting inventory rotation programs and effective clearance action if necessary to ensure maximum profitability and that there is no out-of-date product on show.
- Ensure all Financial budgets and constraints are met.
- Have situational awareness/Survey and monitor Gross margins on products.
- Understands and is aware of all financial performance figures, including Sales, Gross Profits, Labor costs, supply costs, shrink figures, and retail KPIs.
- Ensure Country of origin labelling protocol is followed.
- All food safety regulations, state and federal, are being adhered to, including temperature protocols for food holding, cooler /freezer temperatures, general cleaning practices, and sanitation protocols.
- Ensure that Warehouses, Coolers, and Freezers are kept clean and organized, that products are date-coded and rotated, and that nothing is stored directly on the floor.
- Ensures the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene are being maintained.
- Store is clear of safety hazards and are in a safe condition, with safe work practices in place to prevent any injury to our associates or customers.
- Inform the Store Manager daily on the conditions of the stores and any of the above.

- Knowledge of and experience complying with safety principles, practices, and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
- Experience in a management role within the retail industry, including supervisory experience.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or a related field preferred.
LISCENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS :
- Valid Driver’s License.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
- This position requires an ability to stand and walk for long periods of time with an ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds on occasion. The position may be required to kneel, stoop, reach, push, and pull medium to heavy items on occasion. This position will be required to sit for extended periods of time performing office/clerical work by utilizing general office equipment/computers.
