DELI MANAGER
Company Deli Managers create an exceptional customer service experience by carrying out daily operations for the deli department, including ordering, receiving, and merchandising of deli items.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Maintaining an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a primary emphasis on fast, friendly, and accurate service.
- Ensure company display sets/ planogram integrity are maintained and seasonally correct.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures and all regulations.
- Maintaining product inventory consistent with the store’s brand and customer preferences.
- Merchandise display space to company standards making it aesthetically appealing to maximize sales.
- Oversee food preparation and production.
- Overseeing deli employees, ensuring appropriate food handling, customer service, and pursuit of sales goals.
- Perform supervisory duties for the department, including hiring, scheduling, training, evaluating, coaching, and disciplining employees.
- Using initiative and standard procedures to plan and determine work priorities for self and department personnel based on a logical sequence of events, tasks, or volume and inventory forecasts.
- Checking prices across multiple vendors to ensure the best cost.
- Checking inventory on trucks, unloading products, and ensuring accuracy of inventory, product ordering, and associated paperwork.
- Minimizing shrinkage through proper handling of product and by having correct levels of inventory for sales requirements.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date product pricing information.
- Ensure departmental operations are within budgetary constraints while reporting any deviations to upper management.
- Maintaining firm controls of purchasing to ensure that sales, Gross margin, and inventory goals are met.
- Complying with safety and health standards to ensure safe handling of food.
- Enforcing quality control and food safety standards and ensuring dated products are stocked and rotated properly. Makes fine judgments about aroma, flavor, taste, texture, and color to inspect prepared foods for quality.
- Ensure correct country of origin labelling is maintained.
- Identifying, correcting, and reporting unsafe conditions that could cause accidents.
- Maintaining cleanliness in accordance with safety and health regulations for a healthy and sanitized environment.
- Maintaining quality and cleanliness standards of the department based on federal, state, and organizational regulations and standards.
- Performing additional duties as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
- High School or GED
- Basic Mathematic skills i.e. addition/subtraction, division/multiplication, ratios /percentages.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Minimum experience as a deli department manager or fresh food department management experience with a determined periOd of transitional training determined by the general manager based on individual requirements.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS :
- Food Safety certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
- This position requires lifting and carrying objects up to 25 pounds with frequent walking and standing. The position frequently kneels, stoops, reaches, pushes, pulls, and carries light to medium items.
- Ability to safely operate sharp tools/equipment.
- Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment.
