BUTCHER / MEAT CUTTER

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Maintaining an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a primary emphasis on fast, friendly, and accurate service.
- Preparing and packaging food products and processing customer orders to their specifications.
- Processing fresh meats, smoked meats, seafood, random weight, lunchmeat, frozen food, and salted meats to production standards.
- Receiving and breaking down meat deliveries, stacking, dating and rotating coolers.
- Utilizing peak-time performance cutting lists to cut and trim all products as directed by company standards.
- Properly wrapping, weighing, and pricing products as needed.
- Properly cubing, slicing, and grinding meat as needed.
- Minimizing shrinkage through proper handling of products.
- Stocking and rotating department products to ensure freshness and date control.
- Complying with local, state, and government weights and measuring laws, sanitation standards, grinding logs, and country of origin labeling requirements.
- Maintaining a sanitary work area in compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Complying with safety and health standards to ensure safe handling of food.
- Identifying, correcting, and reporting unsafe conditions that could cause accidents.
- Properly cleaning equipment and tools utilized.
- Providing assistance to co-workers.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures and all regulations.
- Performing additional duties as needed.

- Ability to safely operate heavy and sharp tools/equipment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
- Experience as a Butcher/Meat Cutter is required.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
- This position requires heavy lifting and carrying of objects up to 100 pounds with frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching and inspecting work sites.
- Work is performed indoors in a refrigerated climate control setting.
