Company Deli Clerks create an exceptional customer service experience by preparing and serving deli products to customer specifications while ensuring the deli department is properly maintained.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Maintaining an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a primary emphasis on fast, friendly, and accurate service.
  • Culling displays to ensure only the fresh and quality product is available.
  • Ensure all product date coding is accurate and within parameters.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures and all regulations.
  • Ensuring sections are rotated 100%.
  • Minimizing shrinkage through proper handling of products.
  • Preparing food/deli products to meet customer specifications.
  • Providing assistance to co-workers.
  • Stacking, rotating and date coding coolers.
  • Transferring stock from coolers to display cases and shelves.
  • Unloading of delivery trucks.
  • Complying with safety and health standards to ensure safe handling of food.
  • Identifying, correcting, and reporting unsafe conditions that could cause accidents.
  • Properly cleaning equipment and tools utilized.
  • Performing additional duties as needed.

  • Knowledge of and ability to operate equipment necessary to perform the duties of the position.
  • An ability to work flexible schedules through the day, evening, and weekend shifts.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • This position requires lifting and carrying of objects up to 50 pounds with frequent walking and standing. The position frequently kneels, stoops, reaches, pushes, pulls, and carries medium to heavy items.
  • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment.
